Modern Slavery Statement.
Fearless Women Ltd is committed to combatting slavery and human trafficking in its business and supply chains, and we make this statement to assist with compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
As our business has a turnover of less than £36 million, we do not have a legal obligation to produce a modern slavery statement. However:
a. We agree that exploitation within all supply chains in the UK is a blight on our society, and we are committed to playing our part in eliminating exploitation;
b. We understand that customers with obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015 cannot comply with those duties without our cooperation.
To that end, we confirm that we have examined our own business and, to the extent that it is reasonably practicable, businesses within our supply chain and we confirm the following:
1. We confirm that within our own business, no relevant offence relating to slavery or human tracking has been committed.
2. We have made enquiries of businesses that supply directly to us and we are confident that no relevant offence is committed in that business.
3. Insofar as it was reasonably practicable, we have examined our supply chains and confirm that we found no evidence of slavery or human trafficking
About Fearless women
We are a Communications Agency providing consulting and communications services to our specialised market of women’s sport. Our business is a privately owned limited company with 2 employees based in Maidenhead, Berkshire. The company is managed by our CEO and supported by an operations director that operates in the United Kingdom.
Our Third Party Supply Chain
As Fearless Women is a services business we have limited spending with external vendors on goods and services. The majority of this spend is on IT services. Spend commitments are made using written contracts. We do not use cash payments for services.
Given the nature of our business we believe the risk of modern slavery in Fearless Women’s supply chain is low compared with businesses operating in other sectors. However, we are not complacent and will continue to focus on improving our procedures and policies to ensure that there is no modern slavery in our supply chain.
Most of our manufactured goods (typically small amounts of IT equipment) are purchased from large multinational corporations who have their own supply chain principles and ethical standards in addition to agreeing to ours where appropriate.
We have very limited service provider contractors and we do not enter into individual arrangements for any of these roles and where necessary we contract via reputable facilities management companies.
Where it is reasonably practicable, we ensure that businesses in our supply chain have made a similar statement relating to slavery and human trafficking.
Responsibilities
The person in our business responsible for assessing matters relating to slavery and human trafficking is: Kate Hannon Operations Director
We also encourage all employees to report on any matters relating to slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains of which they become aware.
Code of Contact
Our employees are all provided with a written contract of employment and undertake training in relation to our ethical code and standards. We appreciate the key role that our employees play in maintaining high standards and the Code gives a clear understanding of Fearless Women’s approach to professional and ethical standards and to ensure that employees know exactly what is expected so that they can play their part in helping the company meet those standards. Each employee has a personal responsibility to read the Code, as well as to ensure that they fully understand our obligations and the consequences associated with any breach of those obligations.
We provide opportunities for employees to report any breaches of the code.
Plans for the next financial year
Fearless Women will conduct a risk assessment of the risk of modern slavery in our supply chain (both as regards to the provision of services and purchasing goods). Based upon the results of this assessment, where appropriate, any required risk-based monitoring or assurance programme will be developed and endorsed by our CEO
We also plan to further communicate our ethical standards to our employees and provide training on these issues in our employee induction and update courses.
This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes Fearless Women’s Ltd’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 May 2023
