In 2019, Barclays announced the biggest ever sponsorship of women’s sport in the UK, becoming the title sponsor of the Barclays FA Women’s Super League, Europe’s first fully professional women’s football league. Along with this ground-breaking support for professional women’s sport, Barclays also invested in the FA Girls’ Football School Partnerships, with the aim of ensuring all girls in England have equal access to football in schools by 2024.

Tom Corbett, Barclays’ Group Head of Sponsorships and Media, said: “We’re so pleased to sponsor another series of The Game Changers. Response to the previous series was incredibly positive and it’s great to be back with such a diverse range of influential women from the world of football. I can’t wait to hear more from these trailblazers.”

The Game Changers is hosted by Sue Anstiss MBE, a trustee of the Women’s Sport Trust charity, co-founder of the Women’s Sport Collective and CEO of Fearless Women, a company with a powerful ambition to drive positive change for women’s sport.

The podcast, which won an award in the Best Sports Podcast category of the British Podcast Awards in 2020, features trailblazing women who are knocking down barriers and challenging the status quo for women and girls everywhere.

High profile guests in previous series include Jess Ennis-Hill, Kelly Smith, Clare Balding, Denise Lewis, Sarah Storey, Jacqui Oatley and Katherine Grainger. The most recent 50th episode featured with male ally Ian Wright.

Commenting on the launch of the seventh series, Sue says: “I’m so grateful to Barclays for their ongoing support of The Game Changers. There are many extraordinary women working in football and it’s a privilege to share their extraordinary stories.

“We’ve just surpassed 70,000 downloads, and average over 2,000 downloads a week, which puts The Game Changers in the top 15% of podcasts worldwide. It’s fantastic that we’re able to raise the profile of these fearless females as women’s sport continues its unstoppable growth.”

The Game Changers is free to download wherever you stream podcasts including apple, Google, Spotify and ACast. You can also listen here: http://podfollow.com/1464596772
